Descriptionof Österreichische Jägerwaffen 1767-1867. Windbüchse, Jägerstutzen, Jägerkarabiner, Kammerbüchsen
-
Manufacturer
This book deals with Austrian hunting weapons and covers the wind rifle, the Doppelstutzen, the Jägerstutzen up to 1795, the new development from 1798 to 1828, furthermore the Console-Jägerstützen, Augustin-Jägerstutzen up to the Lorenzsystem with capsule ignition, Projektstutzen from this period as well as Wänzel- and Werndljägerstutzen.
In addition, the Jägerkarabiner and Kammerbüchsen are covered. All in all, the hunter's weapons are presented in a number of approx. 80 pieces, which are shown on the basis of approx. 300 photos. In addition, about 30 hunter bayonets are presented in detail. The armament of the Jäger troop is one of the most interesting sub-areas in the armament of the Austrian Army. Such versatility can hardly be found in any other troop type. The sparse literature deals very little with the systematic development of the special models such as the Jägerstutzen, Jägerkarabiner and chambered rifles of the 18th and 19th centuries. Since the K. u. K. wehrtechnoische Studiensammlung Braunau contains a large collection of over 70 examples of hunter's weapons, they will make a significant contribution to the study of the development of Austrian hunter's weapons. The hunting and sabre bayonets also contained in the collection complete the documentation.
