A revealing book on the initial studies and development of this category of armoured vehicles within the Royal Italian Army, reconstructed also through the unpublished translation of secret correspondence with Soviet industry and never-published documents and plans preserved by the Ansaldo Foundation. The book is richly illustrated with photographs and drawings, some of which have never been published before. The documentary section contains copies of dozens of documents reported on. In addition, the volume offers about forty construction plans and drawings, about ten tables, about 110 photographs from the period, including pictures of never-before-seen prototypes of armoured vehicles and some pictures of construction models. A useful work that sheds light on the subject of Italian heavy armoured vehicles. Also of interest to modellers.
