Description
After a lengthy planning phase, the Canadian Army decided to procure the "Leopard" C1 main battle tank, whose delivery began in 1978, to replace the obsolete "Centurion" main battle tanks. The bulk of the new tanks then went to the "Sabre Squadrons" of the Canadian Armoured Forces regiment stationed in West Germany and served here until its withdrawal in 1993. This publication allows for the first time an intensive look at the manoeuvre deployment of the "Leopard" C1 and its variants in Cold War Germany and sheds light on the structural features of this "Leopard" version in detail with numerous previously unpublished photos.
