Description
The Second World War offered a wealth of technical inventions, concepts and new operational tactics, e.g. the novel use of battle tanks in conjunction with air forces as flying artillery brought mobile warfare back to the battlefield. The arms race for ever greater destructive power culminated in 1945 in the invention and use of the atomic bomb. Wolfgang Fleischer documents all the weapons technology used by the Axis powers and the Allies, whether armoured vehicles, bazookas, aircraft carriers, submarines, anti-aircraft guns or missile weapons.
