World War II thriller about the enemy voyages of a German merchant destroyer in the naval war. Early 1942: World War II is raging not only on land but also on the world's oceans on an unprecedented scale. The USA has recently entered the war and threatens to shift the balance of the warring parties. In this situation, Captain Johannes Pöhl sets off for the Persian Gulf as commander of the auxiliary cruiser "Fuchs" to sink allied ships.
Disguised as a merchant ship, he quickly makes a fat haul. Every foray is like a ride on a razor's edge, because the "Fox" is operating far from home and is completely on its own. The leadership in Berlin demands sacrifice to the last, but doubts about the military sense of his mission increasingly gnaw at Pöhl. The captain wants nothing more than to bring his men back to their families in one piece... And then, in one action, his ship finally takes prisoners on board; among them: Jews. Pöhl suspects what will happen to them if he hands them over. He is faced with the most difficult decision of his life... "Hilfskreuzer "Fuchs" kommt durch" is a tense and harrowing novel that realistically recreates the war at sea. Read how the "Fox" slips through the grids of the Allied reconnaissance planes, how the prisoners on board bring unrest to the crew and how the merchant destroyer finally even meets a Japanese submarine...
