Description
All the world's navies have a number of auxiliary warships in addition to combat ships, and the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal Navy was no exception. Imperial and Royal Navy was no exception. In addition to specially built ships for various purposes (as workshop ships, mother ships for torpedo boats and submarines, rescue ships, tugs and yachts), a number of merchant ships were hired or requisitioned during the war as auxiliary ships for the transport of troops and material, also as patrol and anti-submarine ships, gunboats or hospital ships (hospital ships).
This book is dedicated to all these larger and smaller steamers as well as to a number of mine ships - minelayers and minesweepers - whose actions often took place in the background, as the last book in the series on the Austro-Hungarian warships in the First World War. In addition to technical and historical data and fates of all these ships after the First World War, the book contains a number of photos and drawings of the mining, auxiliary, transport and hospital ships described therein.
