The Centurion was one of the most famous British tanks, whose development began in 1943 and which is still in limited service today. It was exported on a large scale to friendly armies and underwent thirteen different model versions in British service. Over 4,400 were produced. Its main armament evolved from the QF 17-pdr to the 20-pdr and finally to the superior L7 105-mm gun. Many countries used the Centurion for decades, and many Centurion versions were used in all the armies in which it served. Scorpion Miniature Models has released a second volume in a series of model-making reference books designed to inspire model makers to recreate all the important versions of this legendary British tank. In this follow-up volume, model makers with a serious interest in the Centurion will find a wealth of information and inspiration in Ian Wright's models, which depict the later models in great detail. Ian Wright has devoted much of his time over the last decade to modelling British post-war tanks. His incredible models cover the last decade of the Centurion's development. Each build documents the changes necessary to represent the original, while listing the corresponding conversion kits available from Scorpion Miniature Models. Ian Wright's craftsmanship is presented in a readable style with a selection of excellent reference photos. From the Mk.6 to the latest Mk.13, he presents a selection of conversions based on AFV Club 1:35 model kits with many self-built details and the use of SMM and other detailing kits. Each build is presented in chronological order, unpainted, to show every detail change. As a bonus, the Proof-of-Concept Swingfire Centurion and a Stridsvagn 101 are also featured.
