Although not as numerous or popular as the famous Albatrosses, the Pfalz D.III/D.IIIa was nevertheless crucial to the strength of the German air force in the First World War. From a technical point of view, the aircraft was innovative and its advantages proved themselves in aerial combat: several of Germany's greatest pilots achieved ace status in the cockpit of a Pfalz D.III or D.IIIa. "First World War Aircraft In Scale. The Pfalz D.III and D.IIIa" is a helpful resource for modelling this legendary fighter aircraft. Not only does it contain detailed information about the design, construction and markings of the aircraft, but it also presents five different models with extensive illustrations and great attention to detail: the 1:32 kit from Roden for the D.III and D.IIIa, the 1:144 kit from Valom, the 1:72 kit from MAC, the 1:72 kit from Roden and the 1:48 kit from Eduard. In addition, this book explores the world of digital paint schemes and their use in model making with illustrations of the virtual form of the aircraft in the flight simulator game IL2 Sturmovik. Great Battles.
