Description
During World War 2, the tank established itself as the main weapon in ground warfare. Because of the relatively thin armour on the top, aircraft proved to be effective tank destroyers. In the course of the war, practically all nations developed special aircraft variants for tank destruction. Equipped with heavy machine guns or automatic cannons, they were a serious threat to the steel colossi on the ground.
This book describes the history of tank destroyers in the air from the days of World War II through developments in the Cold War to the present day. A wide range of models offers inspiration and tips for modellers: Henschel Hs129B-3 (Zoukei-mura, 1:32); Junkers Ju87G-2 Stuka (Hasegawa, 1:48); Hawker Hurricane Mk. IID (Hasegawa, 1:48); Ilyushin IL-2 Sturmovik (Tamiya, 1:48); AH-1G Cobra (Special Hobby, 1:48); AH-64D Apache Longbow (Hasegawa, 1:48); Kamov Ka-52 Alligator (Italeri, 1/72); A-10C Thunderbolt II (Academy, 1:48); Su-39 Frogfoot (Zvezda, 1:72).
