García, Germán Segura/Ferrer-Dalmau, Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau. Caballería en la Guardia Real

Illustrated with numerous colour reproductions of paintings by the Spanish painter Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau, this volume shows the history and development of the cavalry troops of the Spanish Royal Guard, the "Guardia Real". The origins of this troop in the Royal Guards of the 16th and 17th centuries, the various Guard corps from 1704-1841 (Brigade of Royal Carabineros (1732-1823). Company of Mounted Artillery (1731-1748), the Guards of the Line (1824-1841), the Queen's Guards Squadron (1852-1854) and the King's Guards (1871-1873), the Royal Escort Squadron (1875-1931) and the Royal Mounted Guards in the recent past and present (1975-2012). In addition to the paintings, which do a particularly good job of depicting the guardsmen's uniforms, colour photographs show the weapons that the guardsmen wore at different times.
