Description
This history of the Knights Templar looks primarily at the military element of this first clerical order of knights. The author explains the background to the founding of the order in Jerusalem in 1120, shows how they supplied their knights, soldiers and other members of the order and possessions, how they organised their military forces on campaigns, and what strategies and tactics they used in fighting "infidels". The different theatres of war in which the Templars fought - the Near East, the Iberian Peninsula and Eastern Europe - are also included in the account.
