Between 1938 and 1939, architect Albert Speer constructed the New Reich Chancellery on Berlins Voßstraße. This building complex, comprising several interconnected structures, featured not only numerous offices but also a sequence of ceremonial state rooms. Adolf Hitler commissioned Speer to design these spaces to be as impressive as possible, intending to use such grandeur to demonstrate his power to visiting dignitaries and subordinates alike. Consequently, Speer created a suite of ceremonial rooms within the New Reich Chancellery that Hitlers guests were required to traverse on their way from Wilhelmplatz to his office in the *Führerbau*. The entrance hall described in this book played a pivotal role in this sequence, serving as the first interior space encountered after the Courtyard of Honor. With its ornate bronze entrance doors, walls clad in light-red marble, gilded wall sconces, and elaborately crafted furnishings, the entrance hall served as the New Reich Chancellerys formal reception area. This book details the entire construction history of the entrance hall, spanning from architect Leonhard Galls initial 1937 design to the halls destruction between 1945 and 1950. It also addresses technical features, such as the control system for the automatic climate control installed within the hall. Furthermore, the book provides a detailed description of the various design iterations, furnishing arrangements, lighting schemes, and architectural peculiarities. This book series presents an architectural analysis of the works created by the various architects involved in the Reich Chancellery project. The volumes are illustrated with numerous color computer-generated images and historical photographs. Christoph Neubauer created the computer graphics to visually represent areas of the Reich Chancellery that do not appear in historical photographs. This enables the author to present every architectural detail he describes in vivid color illustrations. The primary focus of this book series is an analysis of the Reich Chancellery's architecture. The individual volumes are strictly categorized by architect, period of creation, and building section. As there is no prescribed reading order, readers are free to arrange the books themselves according to these various categories.
