The *Führerbau* (Leaders Building) of the New Reich Chancellery extended from the ceremonial courtyard on Wilhelmstraße to the Reich Chancellery building at Voßstraße No. 6. Despite the *Führerbau*s enormous size, only an elongated, doorless structure with a plain façade was visible from Voßstraße. The *Führerbau* held a unique position within the New Reich Chancellery complex, as this section housed the offices of Adolf Hitler and his closest associates. However, the majority of the building consisted of ceremonial rooms where Adolf Hitler staged his public persona as "Führer." Because the *Führerbau* was the most important component of the New Reich Chancellery, Albert Speer designed its façades to stand out architecturally from the rest of the complex. This volume describes the building's main façades as well as the ceremonial courtyard that Speer had constructed in front of the *Führerbau* on Voßstraße. In addition to the building's architectural features, the text covers the operation and use of the access points to the five air-raid shelters and the vehicle lift that allowed cars to enter the New Reich Chancellerys underground facilities.
