Historical novel. Richard Sharpe is back on the battlefield of Almaraz.
Richard Sharpe is back on the battlefield - a brand new adventure for England's most famous swashbuckler! Spain, 1812: Once again, the generals demand the impossible from Captain Sharpe: He is to go undercover with a small troop of daring fighters to a village far behind enemy lines. Here, high above the Almaraz Bridge, the future of Europe will be decided. Two French armies are marching towards the bridge - one from the north, one from the south. If they can unite as one force, the British will be lost. Only Sharpe and his men stand in their way. But they are clearly outnumbered. Other, unknown enemies are operating from behind the scenes, and as the French draw ever closer to the front line, time is running out ...
Bernard Cornwell was born in London in 1944 and worked for the BBC for many years, including in Northern Ireland. He has published numerous internationally successful historical novels and thrillers, including the SHARPE series, which has enjoyed cult status for years. With SHARPE'S MURDERER, Cornwell finally published a new Richard Sharpe adventure in autumn 2022 after a break of more than fifteen years. SHARPES KOMMANDO will follow in summer 2024 to the delight of fans.
