The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito was one of the outstanding aircraft of the Second World War and made a significant contribution to the Allied victory. Made primarily of wood, the Mossie was one of the fastest operational aircraft in the world. Although designed as an unarmed high-speed bomber, the Wooden Wonder was quickly converted into a night fighter, fighter-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. The Mosquito played a crucial role in the bomber campaign, proving itself capable of carrying a 4,000-pound bomb to Berlin while offering its crew a much better chance of survival. It was also used for a series of daring low-level precision attacks against a range of targets, many of which are described in this astonishingly well-researched 132-page booklet.
