The Allies’ Multi-Role Combat Aircraft

In many ways, the Bristol Type 156 Beaufighter shaped the modern multirole combat aircraft. It was at the heart of every theater of war and at several critical turning points. As a night fighter, anti-ship missile carrier, sea superiority fighter, and ground-attack platform, the Beaufighter redefined every role it assumed.
