Second volume of a trilogy on the history and uniforms of the Italian financial police, from its foundation in 1862 under the name Guardia Doganale to the beginning of the new Italian Republic in 1946. This work reconstructing the history of the uniforms of the financial police continues following the publication of the first volume, Dalla Guardia Doganale alla Regia Guardia di Finanza 1862-1908, in 2011. It was the age of grey-green, when participation in the First World War saw the disappearance of the striking and impressive uniforms of the late 19th century and made way for clothing that also met very specific camouflage requirements. It was a time of important developments in the structure of law and order and institutions, with the establishment of the tax police in 1923 certainly standing out. Among other things, the book contains 99 pages with partly coloured illustrations of uniforms, headgear, rank insignia, equipment and bladed weapons.
