-
Manufacturer
A reprint, translated into English and additionally annotated by historian Scott Bowden, of the comprehensive tactical analysis of Napoleon I's campaign against Prussia and Saxony in 1806, focusing particularly on the battles of Saalfeld, Jena and Auerstädt. The book begins with a description of the initial military situation. This is followed by a detailed description of the campaign movements and, above all, the battles. The extensive appendix contains, among other things, 29 colour plates on the uniforms of the Prussian army in 1806, an exact battle list of the French troops, an overview of the strength and units of General Oudinot's "Grenadier Division" at various points in the campaign and a description of the organisation, composition and formation of the artillery subordinate to the Imperial Guard and the Grand Battery. This magnificent volume is illustrated with numerous reprints of paintings, including works by Richard Knötel and Eduard Detaille, depictions of uniforms and flags, as well as many tactical diagrams and maps.
