Descriptionof Büssing's schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper (sWS), armored and unarmoured variants
-
Manufacturer
After several volumes on the towing vehicles of the German Wehrmacht had already been published within the "Nuts & Bolts" series, it was only a matter of time before this topic would be completed and any gaps closed.
The author has found a lot of new material about this very interesting vehicle in various archives, which he presents in this issue of "Nuts & Bolts". Still existing vehicles of this series are very rare, and the author Nicolaus Hettler had the opportunity to extensively photograph and precisely measure three privately owned vehicles. The reader will find the results of this detailed examination in this booklet. In addition to the approx. 119 colour photos of preserved vehicles and various pieces of equipment from collections, there are 91 contemporary b/w photos from vehicle manuals as well as operational photos and a further 58 colour photos of models built by Tony Greenland and V. Branigan.
