Volume 22 of the series "Aircraft in Detail" presents a portrait of the C-160 "Transall", a versatile transport aircraft that is or was in service with the armed forces of Germany, France, Turkey and South Africa. 2021 marks the end of the C-160 "Transall" in the service of the German Air Force. For 54 years, the aircraft has faithfully served as a transport aircraft and has been in service worldwide.
The different variants are also shown and even the C-160 G "Transall Gabriel", which was in service with the French Air Force and of which only two were built. More than 250 photos show the "Transall" in detail and in action.
