Fielded in their thousands during the Great Patriotic War, as the Soviets knew the Second World War, The T-34/85 was a thorn in the side of the German armed forces from its introduction through to the wars end.
With its potent 85mm ZiS main gun coupled with its sloping armour, the T-34/85 may not have been as sophisticated or as highly engineered as their German counterparts but as Soviet leader Josef Stalin once stated "quantity has a quality all of its own", and the T-34/85 was testament to that. Supremely rugged and reliable, the T-34/85 had excellent off-road capability, especially in the marshland or snow of the Eastern Front, and was easy for the crew to operate and maintain.
