Genghis Khan "the Blacksmith"; * probably around 1155, 1162 or 1167; probably on 18 August 1227. He was a Khagan of the Mongols and founder of the Mongol Empire. He united the Mongol tribes and conquered large parts of Central Asia and northern China. His reign as the first Khagan of the Mongols lasted from 1206 to 1227.
