The figure is based on a picture of Frank Linke-Crawford, the famous Austro-Hungarian fighter ace of WW I credited with 27 aerial victories. Oberleutnant (First Lieutenant) Linke-Crawford was born in 1893 and died during a mission in 1918.The figure represents him in his non-regular mixture of uniform with a field grey jacket and probably privately purchased linen trousers and ties. Feldpilot badge can be seen on his jacket.
