This was a typical wood-constructed Guard Box found all over Western Europe particularly in France and Germany and dated back to the Napoleonic era. This particular one is finished in a 3-colour, matt-painted scheme of red, black and white diagonal stripes with the interior of the box left its natural wood colouring. As can be seen in our photographs a wide range of different German Guard figures can be utilized with this great accessory.
