Henry William Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey (b. 17 May 1768; 28 April 1854), known by the courtesy title Lord Paget between 1784 and 1814, was a British soldier and politician. After the death of his father, Paget inherited the title of Earl of Uxbridge (Lord Uxbridge) in 1812. He commanded the entire British cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo; he lost a leg near the end of the battle but was later rewarded by being made Marquess of Anglesey and thanked by Parliament.
