True Metallic Metal
With TMM (True Metallic Metal), painters can achieve natural reflections and a visually impressive finish while preserving the material richness of metal in miniature form. To master this technique, using a metallic paint alone is not enough. TMM requires the application of the classic principles of light and shadow used in volume modelling working with colour gradients, transitions and contrasts, just like any other non-metallic finish. For years, painters have been searching for a way to achieve realistic metallic surfaces with shine, depth and control over light reflection. True Metallic Metal (TMM) is Vallejo's answer to this quest.
Vallejo presents True Metallic Metal, a product range designed to offer control, consistency and spectacular results through simple, effective techniques for painting metallic surfaces on miniatures. The range covers the entire colour spectrum with metallic paints and is divided into 20 colour families.
Each family comprises four sub-families that are perfectly matched:
BASE Main metallic colour.
LIGHT Metallic highlight.
SHADE Non-metallic satin wash.
AIRBRUSH Metallic base designed for use with an airbrush.
Each colour family functions as a standalone colour unit, but is also formulated to allow for combinations and blends within the family. This allows for colour gradients, cross reflections or temperature variations to be created without losing visual coherence.
