The Ionic WWII Soviet Uniforms set includes 12 acrylic colors specially selected for painting Soviet military uniforms of the Second World War.
The IONIC WWII Soviet Uniforms 19391945 set includes 12 carefully selected acrylic paints designed to reproduce the characteristic colors used on Soviet uniforms and equipment throughout the Second World War. Covering the period from the late 1930s through 1945, this set provides the essential tones needed to paint everything from the classic M35/M43 Field Uniform and winter padded clothing to greatcoats, winter white garments, and naval uniforms in Soviet service.
During this period, Soviet troops wore a wide variety of garments depending on the season, theater of operations, and the nature of their service. The M35/M43 Field Uniform commonly appeared in khaki and yellow?brown shades, while winter padded garments such as the Telogreika introduced heavier, more muted variations within the same general range. In cold conditions, the long Shinel overcoat became a defining element of the Soviet look, and winter camouflage was often completed with the well?known Winter White. Alongside these standard army garments, naval personnel and naval infantry also incorporated distinctive dark blue uniform elements, adding even more variety to the appearance of Soviet forces in the field.
In addition to the main uniform colors, the set also includes the essential auxiliary tones needed to convincingly finish a figure. Moon Grey is ideal for the ushanka, while Black Forest works perfectly for the Soviet steel helmet. Burnt Umber is included for leather straps, pouches, and equipment, Black for boots, and Shadow Orange for rifle stocks and wooden handles. Steel covers metallic details and weaponry, while Ivory is ideal for winter garments, sailor collars, and Telnyashka details. The set is completed with Dwarf Skin for faces and hands, bringing together all the key tones needed to paint Soviet figures in a coherent and realistic way.
