Vallejo presents True Metallic Metal (TMM), a palette designed to enable control, consistency, and spectacular results through simple, effective techniques for painting metallic surfaces on miniatures. The palette covers the entire color spectrum with metallic colors and is divided into 20 color families. Each family includes four sub-ranges that work together perfectly: - BASE: Main metallic tone. - LIGHT: Metallic highlight. - SHADE: Non-metallic satin glaze. - AIRBRUSH: Metallic base for airbrush application. Each color family acts as a self-contained color unit, but is also designed to allow combinations and blends between families. This allows for color gradients, cross-reflections, or temperature variations to be created without losing visual coherence. The True Metallic Metal (TMM) technique aims to represent realistic metallic surfaces with metallic colors, rather than simulating metal with flat colors, as with Non-Metallic Metal (NMM). True Metallic Metal (TMM) allows painters to achieve natural reflections and a visually stunning finish with less painterly artificiality, thus preserving the material diversity of metal in miniature. To master this technique, simply using a metallic color is not enough. TMM requires the application of the classic light and shadow principles of solid modeling, as well as working with gradients, blends, and contrasts, just like any other non-metallic finish. For years, painters have sought a way to achieve realistic metallic surfaces with luster, depth, and control over light reflection. True Metallic Metal (TMM) is Vallejo's answer to this quest.
