The Dreamliner continues the long-standing relationship between Lufthansa and Boeing, which began in 1965 with the delivery of the first Boeing 727 to the crane airline. In spring 2022, thanks to the takeover of vacant delivery positions from orders not accepted by other airlines, the first 787-9 will be put into service, initially on the Frankfurt-Toronto route. The model of Lufthansa's first Dreamliner, christened "Berlin".
