Heinrich Rudolf Zille (1858 - 1929) was a German graphic artist, painter and photographer. In his art, Zille, known as "Pinselheinrich", favoured themes from Berlin folk life, which he depicted in a way that was both locally patriotic and socially critical. Height 7.5 cm

Zille became best known for his (often funny) drawings, catching the characteristics of people, especially "stereotypes", mainly from Berlin and many of them published in the German weekly satirical newspaper Simplicissimus.
