The stagecoach robbery is based on the story of the bandit George "Big Nose" Parrott. In the spring of 1880, he and his gang held up the noon stagecoach between Miles City and Bismarck, Montana. Among the robbers was a man named Isaac "Ikey" Katz, who allegedly intended to open a clothing shop in Gold Country - so he was carrying several thousand dollars. The robbery succeeded.
