Background figure, engraved and painted on one side. Original Spenkuch cast. Length 14 cm.
The German colonial railways in the colonies of the German Empire were built from the end of the 19th century until 1916. In 1910 the Westafrikanische Pflanzungs-Gesellschaft built its own small railway with 60 cm gauge. The railway had a length of 66 kilometres and connected the coastal town of Victoria with Zwingenberger Hof near the main town of Soppo. In between were the company's plantations. It therefore served primarily to transport plant products, but was also used to a limited extent for passenger transport. Note: after removal of the lettering "Victoria", the figure can be used for many other purposes. For figures from 25 to 45 mm as a background.
The Westafrikanische Pflanzungs-Gesellschaft "Victoria" Aktiengesellschaft (WAPV) was the largest planting company in Cameroon during German colonial rule. - Wikipedia -
