Medieval slingshots were also placed on city wall towers. A common catapult from the 11th century onwards was the towed blide. It was smaller and lighter than the blide without a counterweight. The throwing arm was operated by muscle power using ropes. It mainly fired stone balls up to around 80 m with a shot sequence of up to 2 minutes and was primarily used for defence, but was also used in attack. It was often operated by women. Well preserved. Length 7.5 cm.
