Polyester resin and epoxy resin attack the silicone moulds required for the production of cast parts, which is why these must be coated with TFC Special mould release agent beforehand.
Without the application of release agent, the casting resins very quickly extract the silicone oil contained in the silicone mould. This leads to brittleness and hardening of the silicone mould, which can then tear more quickly. With very aggressive casting resins, the silicone can also dissolve without the application of release agent, which causes fine details in the silicone mould to fade and the silicone mould can become unusable after just a few castings.
Processing Apply TFC Special Mould Release Agent thinly and completely to the silicone mould with a brush. The drying time is approx. 20 minutes. This creates a thin cellulose skin on the mould wall, which is removed after demoulding the finished casting by grinding, polishing or washing off.
Caution TFC Special Mould Release Agent is not suitable for separating silicone from silicone when making multi-part silicone moulds. In this case, use TFC release vaseline or TFC release wax.
