(May 1813). After a painting by Kratké c. 1870 showing Napoleon kneeling at the deathbed of his friend Duroc. Duroc had been wounded by a cannonball during the retreat on the High Road in Markersdorf near Görlitz. A memorial stone in Markersdorf commemorates this sad event. Besides Napoleon and Duroc, the generals Berthier and Caulaincourt as well as the doctor Yvan are known by name. Furthermore 3 orderlies belong to the series. With black and white picture.
