- This box contains troops armed with the yumi (bow) and teppo (musket). - The musket was introduced to Japan in 1543 and within 60 years it outnumbered the bow on the battlefield by 4 or 5 to 1 - In later armies the bowmen were used to protect the musketmen as they reloaded.
