In a compact form, the origin, strength, structure and distribution of the Polish army in peacetime are described, as well as the strength and armament of the individual branches of the armed forces (including the navy) are listed in detail. Further chapters deal with the officer corps, military schools and training courses, clothing, equipment and rank insignia, border guards and military associations, fortifications and transport, the armament situation and the army budget. The specifically Polish weights and topographical and tactical signs and abbreviations are also listed. Colour plates show the rank insignia, collar patches and special insignia of the various branches of the armed forces, the staff flags, pennants and standards.
