In July 2016, at the NATO summit in Warsaw, it was decided to maintain a multinational battalion, so-called "battlegroups", in each of the three Baltic states and Poland as part of the "Enhanced Forward Presence" from 2017. Battlegroups of 800-1200 soldiers will be stationed locally for a period of about six months in order to conduct joint exercises and training projects with the units of the host countries. The FRG has taken over the leadership of the "Battlegroup" in Lithuania. The preparation of the armoured infantry brigade 37 for this deployment in Lithuania is shown in this booklet with the help of exclusively colour photos, which provides a good overview of the current vehicle arsenal of the Bundeswehr.
