The USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) (until 1973 CVA-63) is a United States Navy aircraft carrier and type ship of the Kitty Hawk class. She is named after the town of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where the Wright Brothers made their first powered flight. The Kitty Hawk was the last remaining carrier with oil-fired propulsion in the US fleet and was decommissioned on 31 January 2009 after more than 47 years in service. -Wikipedia-
