The Soldier King (1713-1740) Friedrich Wilhelm I of the House of Hohenzollern (* 14 August 1688 in Berlin; Ä 31 May 1740 in Potsdam) was King in Prussia and Margrave of Brandenburg from 1713 until his death, and thus Archkämmerer and Kurfürst of the Holy Roman Empire. He bears the surname of the "Soldier King".
