While the British Army was highly experienced in guerrilla warfare due to its long involvement in Northern Ireland, and possessed the vehicle equipment required for such a conflict, it was now deployed in Afghanistan under extreme weather conditions in a vast theatre of operations involving deserts and mountainous regions, exposed to intense heat and dust. Equipment and especially vehicles had simply not been developed for this. This was remedied by a completely new generation of vehicles, tailor-made for combat operations in desert regions. Among the most modern designs are the all-terrain fire support vehicle "Jackal" 1/2/2A and the light tactical logistics vehicle "Coyote". The publication presents these two vehicle types for the first time in words and in detail in pictures in action and with their respective technology.
