The RZV500R, which was first presented at the 1983 Tokyo Motor Show, caused a sensation as a motorbike whose technical specifications - in particular the liquid-cooled 500 cc two-stroke V4 engine - were identical to those of Yamaha's GP racing machine, the YZR500. This plastic model kit faithfully reproduces this legendary machine. The model captures the authentic lines of the original, including the large, racing-inspired fairing, fuel tank and hump cover for the single seat. Its sophisticated mechanical components - first and foremost the characteristic liquid-cooled two-stroke V4 engine - as well as the carburettor and radiator have been reproduced with exquisite precision. The rear monocross lever suspension features a metal coil spring for a realistic look and feel. In addition, ignition cables, radiator hoses and other lines and cable details are modelled using vinyl hoses.
