A real highlight from TAMIYA in the field of 1:48 aircraft models: The Lockheed Martin® F-35®B Lightning II ®! The model is a complete mould novelty and in-house development by TAMIYA. The aim was to realise the most detailed model of this aircraft in 1/48 scale.
The F-35 is available in three versions: A for the Air Force, B for the Marines and C for the Navy. The development ran under the JSF programme (Joint Strike Fighter programme) and the F-35 should represent the fifth generation of fighter jets. The aircraft has a highly developed stealth design, a state-of-the-art network and countless sensors that provide all the data for the pilot and computer.

- 1/48 scale kit - The unique shape and characteristic stealth canopy design have been accurately reproduced - The model can be built in three different ways: 1) Parked 2) Short take-off: Take-off from a flight deck or airfield with a short runway. Open flap behind the cockpit 3) Vertical landing - Realistic radar absorbed material (RAM) - Model can be built in 3 different weapon configurations: Stealth Mode, Air-to-Air Mode and Beast Mode - The model has particularly faithfully reproduced sections: - Weapons bay incl. lines, landing gear bays, cockpit, nozzle, Martin-Baker US16E ejection seat (multi-piece), ladder, Y-shaped air intakes, 5-piece engine nozzle, RCS radar, and much more.and much more - Weapon bays can be built open or closed - Incl. seated pilot figure with Helmet-Mounted Display (HMD) and various weapons: AIM-9X Sidewinder, AIM-120C AMRAAM, GBU-12 Paveway II, GBU-31 JDAM - Transparent parts for sensor windows - The model can be built in nine different identifications: U.S. Marine Corps, Royal Air Force, Italian Air Force / Navy - Includes masking film for painting and a coloured painting template - Glue, tools and paints are required for assembly
