Tamiya presents an updated new edition of the model 24014 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo in 1:24 scale with new Cartograf decals, updated building instructions and packaging.
The German Racing Championship (DRM) comprised two classes with displacements of 2,000 cm³ and more and under 2,000 cm³. The Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was a vehicle that challenged the BMW 320 Turbo. It made its debut at the eighth DRM round in Hockenheim in the summer of 1978 and was characterised by an extremely low front end, a wide body and eye-catching red and yellow markings on a black background.
This car regularly raced in the leading group and took its first victory in the spring race at the Nürburgring in October 1978. The following year, it finished second in the first DRM race in Zolder and won the second race in Hockenheim.
