Preußischer Leibhusar. The 1st Leib-Husaren Regiment No. 1 was a cavalry unit in the Preußische Armee. It had no guard status. In the war against Napoleon in 1806/07, the regiment initially remained in Poland and was then advanced along the Vistula to Thorn, where it routed the French 55th Line Infantry Regiment in the Battle of Heilsberg on 10 June 1807, capturing its eagle. A monument to the Prittwitz Hussars was erected on the market square in Heilsberg. In the War of Liberation in 1813/14, the Hussars fought in the Battle of Großbeeren and the Battle of Leipzig. After Napoleon's abdication, the regiment entered Paris with the victorious troops.
