As the demand for affordable and versatile transport vehicles had already risen sharply in the early stages of the German economic miracle, Volkswagen began production of the so-called VW Type 2 in 1950. The all-rounder, now affectionately known as the "VW Bulli" by its many fans, developed into the outstanding beast of burden of the economic upturn in Germany in the 1950s. Schuco has produced the VW T1b in 1:64 scale from die-cast zinc. As usual with Schuco models, a large number of details have been reproduced exactly and finished with the highest precision.
