A volume from the series Legends of Warfare. Naval. The USS Yorktown (CV-10) is an Essex-class aircraft carrier that served with the US Navy during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The ship is currently part of the Patriots Point museum complex near Charleston, South Carolina, and is open to the public. The CV-10 replaced the Yorktown CV-5, which was sunk in the Battle of Midway. This work from the Legends of Warfare. Naval series contains 350 images. The photos, tables and accompanying texts show the ship during its construction, on display at Patriots Point and, of course, during its long service with the Navy.
