The "Hermann Marwede" is one of the most modern ships of its kind in the world and is the largest sea rescue cruiser ever commissioned in Germany. The ship was christened in summer 2003 and is stationed on the deep-sea island of Helgoland. The maximum speed is 25 knots (46.3 km/h), the maximum range 3,926 km. Propulsion is provided by 3 engines with a total output of 9,250 hp. On board are an on-board hospital, a crane, a dinghy, fire-fighting equipment and a helicopter deck. The daughter boat reaches a speed of 18 knots and can operate in shallow waters. Since its foundation in 1865, the DGzRS sea rescuers have rescued over 76,000 people from life-threatening danger. The work of the sea rescuers is financed exclusively by donations. This model has a two-part hull and decks with engraved details. This makes assembly easy, even for beginners. Numerous details, e.g. the fire guns, searchlights, winch and the extensive radar mast or crane, are authentically reproduced. Decals for the daughter boat "Verena" are also included.
