The volume offers a careful selection of texts from recent years gripping reports from countries such as Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, but also calls for resistance and moving speeches against forgetting the Holocaust. Martin Pollack also repeatedly grapples with the difficult history of his own family. And in his last years, already marked by illness, he wrote very personal observations from his beloved garden in Burgenland, stories of apple trees, seasons and all kinds of creatures.
