In 1936, the MNO ordered the production of a continuation aerobatic aircraft Bs.122. The aircraft was derived from the aerobatic Ba.122, but had stepped wings and a longer fuselage and was powered by a Castor II-A engine. The first Bs-122 was flown on 10 September 1936, and from July 1937 the Bs-122 was assigned to the training squadron of Aviation Regiment 4 and to the VLU.
